Natural Cork Placemats – Marble Pattern, Set of 2 or 4
They are mistaken for marble. Placed on a table, these cork placemats with swirling veins create a natural stone effect that surprises all guests—until they touch them and discover the softness and lightness of cork. The marbled pattern is 100% natural: it is the fibers of the cork oak bark that draw these arabesques, without dye or printing.
At only 3 mm thick, they can be stored flat in a drawer or upright between two books. No fabric that wrinkles, no plastic that sticks—just cork that cleans with a wipe of a sponge and lasts for years.
Why switch to cork for your placemats
- Natural thermal insulator — cork protects your table from the heat of dishes and plates without burning or deforming. No need for an extra trivet for a gratin or a casserole.
- Waterproof and stain-resistant — a spilled glass? A drizzle of sauce? Cork does not soak up. A wipe with a damp sponge and it's clean. No residual stains like on fabric.
- Non-slip — cork naturally adheres to the table, and plates do not slide on it. No more placemats that move with every motion.
- Silent — placing a glass or cutlery on cork produces no noise. Real acoustic comfort compared to wood, glass, or stone.
- Each set is unique — the marbled veins are the natural pattern of the bark. No two sets will be strictly identical.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does cork resist hot dishes?
Yes. Cork is a natural thermal insulator used for centuries (it protects wine bottles). You can place a hot dish directly on the placemat without risk to your table. However, avoid direct contact with a scorching hot pan straight from the fire.
Is the marbled pattern printed?
No. It's the natural texture of cork oak bark. The swirls and arabesques you see are the natural fibers of cork, compressed and sliced. No dye, no treatment—it's nature's design.
How to clean these placemats?
Wipe with a damp sponge and a little neutral soap after each meal. Cork dries in a few minutes. Do not put them in the dishwasher and do not let them soak in water.
Will the placemats curl over time?
No. At 3 mm thick, cork remains perfectly flat. Store them flat in a drawer or upright between two supports. Avoid rolling them.
How long do they last?
Cork is a naturally wear-resistant material. With minimal maintenance (sponge after each meal), these placemats last several years without losing their appearance or properties.
