It's the natural texture of the cork. The horizontal veins you see are the fibers of the cork oak bark — no printing, no dyeing. This is what gives each bag its unique character.

Is the drawstring strong?

Yes. The cord is made of cork, a material that is both flexible and very resistant to traction. It does not break or fray, unlike fabric or cotton cords.

Is this bag mass-produced?

No. This model is produced in very small series by Portuguese artisans. Stocks are limited and are not always restocked identically, as the texture of the zebra-patterned cork naturally varies from batch to batch.

A damp cloth with a little neutral soap is sufficient. Cork dries quickly and does not retain odors. Avoid harsh detergents.
